OSHO - Tears are one of the most beautiful things in the world, so enjoy them and remain fragile, because if you are fragile then you are available to god

Tears are one of the most beautiful things in the world, so enjoy them and remain fragile, because if you are fragile then you are available to god. You are soft, you are porous. You function like a sponge and god is soaked in.

When you are hard, nothing enters – and we have been taught to be hard so that nothing enters. The hardness is part of our defense. We are afraid: that’s why we are hard. So when you start feeling not afraid, you become fragile.

It is fear that has made people like rocks – very stiff, hard, non-vulnerable – because they are afraid that somebody may enter, somebody’s love, and some tenderness may surface. They have been taught not to allow anything to enter, because if something enters, you are no more in control,  so you protect yourself.

If you really want to laugh, you will have learn how to weep.
If you cant weep, you are not capable of laughter.
There are millions of people whose teras have dried
Their eyes have lost luster, depth and water
Becasue they cant weep ; tears cant flow naturally .
If tears are crippled , laughter will also be crippled.

Never be afraid of tears.
The so-called civilization has made you very afraid of tears.
It has created a kind of guilt in you.
When tears comes, you start feeling embarrased.
You start feeling it looks so feminine and childish .
You stop those tears—and you kill something which was growing in you.

Tears are far more beautiful than anything that you have with you,
because tears come from the overflow of your being.
Ane tears are not necessarily of sadness
sometimes they come out of great joy , peace, love and ecstasy.
In fact, they have nothing to do with sadness or happiness.
Anything that takes possession of you,
Anything that sirs your heart too much,
Anything that is too much to contain, and it starts overflowing
–that brings tears.

Osho
